Autumn Planting Onions & Shallots
Shallots are highly praised for their flavour with many chefs choosing them over onions for their sweeter taste. Unlike onions, where each plant normally forms a single bulb, shallots divide into multiple sections, similar to garlic. Shallots are an excellent source of vitamin C, potassium, dietary fibre and folic acid. They also contain calcium, iron and have a high protein quality.
Also known as Banana Shallot, they have long bulbs with copper coloured skin and rosy flesh. Good keeper with excellent yield. Superb flavour!
