Children's Clothing
Fun, practical clothing made from fabric with original illustrations.
Zac & Bella is a unique, sustainable children's fashion brand designed and made in South Wales, UK.
The brand was formed in 2016 as an online business by London College of Fashion graduate Hayley McGhan.
"Slow fashion" and responsibility for the environment is at the heart of the brand as well as providing fun, machine washable and on-trend clothing.
All fabrics are designed by Hayley and all clothing is made on a repurposed Gatwick Express train at the Goodsheds development in Barry. After 5 years trading online and through selected stockists, the first Zac & Bella boutique opened in December 2020.
Our commitment to sustainability
Ethically sourced Organic cotton
Once the fabric design is complete it is then digitally printed onto a fabric made from 95% organic cotton and 5% Lycra.
Organic cotton crops use 80% less water than conventional cotton. For every metre of fabric ordered from our printers 1 m2 of forest is planted. All fabrics carry the GOTS certificate as well as the OEKO-Tex certificate.
Digital Printing Process
Our printers use a sustainable print technology with positive ecological balance and 95% higher production efficiency than traditional printing methods. This means minimised consumption of water, energy and chemical substances.
Reduced Carbon Footprint
All our fabrics and supplies are sourced from within Europe and every single item of clothing and accessory is made in South Wales, UK. We have aimed to have transparency as well as minimal supply chain in order to reduce our carbon footprint.
Minimal Waste
Fabric is printed in small amounts to reduce any unwanted holding of stock. Every usable scrap of fabric is kept and made into beautiful hairbows and other accessories in order to keep any waste to a minimum. In the Zac & Bella boutique we only use electronic receipts, recyclable paper bags and avoid any single use plastic items where possible.
